75 scanners. One library.
Every chart pattern you actually trade: bullish bases, bearish reversals, candlesticks, momentum, consolidation, and gaps. All of it rescanned across every liquid US stock (~4,500 names) after every close.
Chart Patterns
18 scannersThe classical chart patterns: cups, flags, triangles, wedges, double bottoms and head and shoulders, with what has to be true on the chart for each to trigger.
Trend & Stage
7 scannersTrend-following setups: Stage 2 uptrends, power trends, golden crosses, 52-week highs and moving-average pullbacks, used to define regime rather than to time an entry.
What these have in commonVolume
3 scannersVolume-based setups: relative volume, volume dry-up and the pocket pivot, which read participation rather than price to find institutional footprints.
What these have in commonVolatility Compression
5 scannersVolatility compression setups: Bollinger squeeze, TTM squeeze, NR7, inside bars and ADR contraction, which say an expansion is coming without saying which way.
What these have in commonCandlestick Reversal
7 scannersSingle- and multi-session candlestick reversals: hammer, engulfing, morning star, piercing line and three white soldiers, with what each one demonstrates.
Momentum Indicators
3 scannersMomentum setups derived from indicators: MACD crossovers, RSI divergence and stochastic extremes, and what each one is actually measuring.
What these have in commonGaps & Islands
4 scannersGap setups: gap ups, breakaway gaps, gap fill reversals and island reversals, and what an untraded price range tells you.
What these have in commonShort Setups
28 scannersBearish chart patterns and short setups: head and shoulders, double top, bear flag, descending triangle, death cross and the bearish candlestick reversals.
Every pattern has a reference page describing what has to be true on the chart before the scanner returns it.
Patterns drawn on the chart, not just labeled.
Every scanner hit comes with the structural overlay drawn on the candlestick chart: base, handle, neckline, target, stop. You can see why the setup qualified, not just that it did.
Everything in the app, on one page.
PatternGrade ships with the tools you actually use to study setups: pattern overlays, backtest panels, a sector heatmap, ticker compare, earnings and watchlists. Everything below is live in the app; the figures shown here are illustrative.
A+, A, and B grades from each pattern's structure.
Every scanner has its own structural rules: base depth, base length, volume contraction, trend stage, R:R. The same chart always earns the same grade, and the rules behind it are written down. No black box.
75 scanners across every pattern family.
Bullish bases, bearish reversals, trend stages, candlesticks, momentum, and consolidation, all rescanned after every close.
Open any past setup on the chart as it stood that day.
Spot which sectors are running hot today.
Overlay up to four tickers, normalized or absolute.
Drop tickers into the compare view and overlay them as normalized percent change or raw price. The 1M, 3M, and 1Y returns line up next to each chip so you can size up relative strength at a glance.
Group tickers any way you trade.
One score that ranks ~4,500 US stocks against each other.
A quant panel on every ticker: risk-adjusted return, relative strength, trend stage, momentum, volatility regime, liquidity and accumulation. One Composite score rolls them up into a sortable 1-99 rank across the universe, so you can sort the list rather than read it.
The same chart always gets the same grade.
A grade measures one thing: how closely the price action matches the textbook definition of the pattern. Fixed rules, applied the same way every night, with every threshold published — so you can look at the chart and decide whether you agree.
Fail any one of these and nothing is returned — there is no low-grade consolation match.
- A prior advance of at least 30% into the base
- Cup depth between 12% and 35% below the left rim
- The two rims within 6% of each other
- Cup closes fit an upward parabola with R² of 0.70 or better
- At least 55% of the cup spent in its lower half, and the low near the middle — this is what rejects a V
- A handle of 5–25 bars that stays below the rim and above the cup midpoint
- Handle pullback between 2% and 15%, drifting flat or down
- Handle volume no more than 85% of the cup's average
Multiplied together into one score, then cut at two fixed thresholds.
| A+ | score ≥ 0.80 | Textbook |
| A | score ≥ 0.70 | Clean |
| B | below 0.70 | Loose |
A grade describes the shape, not the outcome. It is not a probability, not a ranking of which setups will work, and not a suggestion to buy or sell anything.
The whole market in one glance.
A treemap of ~4,500 US stocks, sized by market cap and grouped by sector. Color it by daily performance to see what's running, or by scanner-hit density to see where the setups are firing.
Overlay up to four tickers on one chart.
Drop tickers into the compare view and toggle between normalized percent change and absolute price. The 1M, 3M, and 1Y returns line up next to each chip so you can size up relative strength at a glance.
Know what's coming next quarter.
Every ticker page shows the last 8 quarters of EPS: estimate vs actual, beat or miss, surprise percentage. The next earnings date sits alongside them, so a setup that fires the day before a print never catches you off guard.
